Case Study: NBCUniversal x Give Kids Art — Season of Service

This winter, Give Kids Art had the honor of partnering with NBCUniversal as part of their Season of Service—an initiative centered on showing up for communities through meaningful, hands-on support.

Together, they assembled and sponsored 200 Give Kids Art Kits, activating five NBCUniversal teams across three states in a shared effort to support children in Los Angeles who have been impacted by the early 2025 wildfires—an event from which many families are still deeply recovering. The kits were Give Kids Art’s signature, ready-to-take-home Art Kits, designed to give kids immediate access to creative materials—no instructions, no pressure, just some gentle inspiration and tools to create fearlessly.

To ensure these kits reached children who needed them most, we partnered with LA Strong Foundation, whose deep community ties helped place the Art Kits directly into the hands of families and youth facing disruption and uncertainty. In moments like these, creative expression can offer kids a sense of grounding, agency, and comfort—and that belief sits at the heart of Give Kids Art’s mission.

From the start, this partnership was designed to be simple and impactful. NBCUniversal reached out with interest, and our team handled the rest—coordinating supplies, providing a clear assembly system, and making the experience easy for employee teams to step into. Volunteers received and counted materials, then assembled the kits together. In this case, NBCUniversal thoughtfully chose to ship the completed kits back to California so they could be distributed to wildfire-impacted communities, though in many partnerships, kits are delivered directly to local organizations in need.

What made this collaboration especially impactful was the combination of employee engagement and tangible giving. NBCUniversal teams didn’t just fund the kits—they actively participated in assembling them, turning the experience into a collective act of care. It’s a model we believe in deeply: when people come together to create something with intention, the impact travels far beyond the moment itself.

This initiative is a powerful example of how corporate partners can support children’s social-emotional well-being in ways that are scalable, hands-on, and deeply human. With a clear assembly process, trusted distribution partners, and a shared commitment to creativity as a tool for healing, this collaboration showed what’s possible when generosity meets thoughtful action.

We’re incredibly grateful to NBCUniversal for choosing Give Kids Art as a Season of Service partner, and for helping us spark moments of curiosity, confidence, and fearless creativity for kids during a challenging time.

If your organization is interested in sponsoring or hosting an Art Kit assembly, we’d love to explore how we can create impact together.

Partnering with Give Kids Art allowed NBCU employees to empower childhood creativity. Through this meaningful project, teams from across the country were able to support families impacted by LA’s devastating wildfires. Give Kids Art offered a unique and fun way for employees to volunteer.
