Join Kids Create Fearlessly!

Summer 2026

This summer, we’re inviting young artists everywhere to create artwork inspired by the creative prompt below. Kids are encouraged to explore the art prompt through drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, sculpture, photography, or any creative approach they choose. Participation is free and open to all young artists, under the age of 18.

This will be their moment to create freely, be seen, and share their creativity with the world. ✨

What makes you stop and stare? What fills you with excitement, wonder, curiosity, or amazement?

Whether your young artist spends two minutes or two days on their creation, we want to see their unique voice represented in the national gallery.”

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Open to young artists under age 18.

Step 1.

Create

Have your young artist respond to the prompt above: “What makes you go, ‘Wow’?”

Here are some questions to guide them:

  • What makes you stop and stare?

  • What fills you with excitement, wonder, curiosity, or amazement?

Step 2.

Submit

Photograph your child’s artwork (see below for tips) and submit it to the form at the bottom of this page.

Their artwork will be showcased in our National Online Gallery, and have the chance to be published in the official, limited-edition printed zine.

Step 3.

Share

Photograph your child’s artwork (see below for tips) and submit it to the form at the bottom of this page.

TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING ARTWORK

  • Place artwork in natural light

  • Photograph artwork straight-on

  • Avoid shadows if possible

  • Fill the frame with the artwork

  • Use the highest image quality available on your phone

  • Share multiple options with us if you’re unsure of the best option!

Every young artist who submits will be included in the National Online Gallery. Due to page limits, inclusion in the printed zine is selective, but all submissions will be thoughtfully considered.
