Artist Statement: Bert Smith is a 20-year-old visual artist from Phoenix, AZ. They work in multiple mediums, including printmaking, oil pastel, tapestry weaving, and digital art.
About The Piece: Nothing scarier to a small kitten than a huge, strange human, but this one doesn’t mind. Inspired by the kitten we recently employed at the bookstore I work at, and how he’s gone from a scared little man to a fearless goblin so quickly.
Art Materials: Oil pastel, watercolor, crayon, and embroidery thread on paper.
