Artist Statement: Katya Labowe-Stoll (b. 1999, CT) received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2021 and lives in Los Angeles, CA. Through drawing and oil painting she explores what it means to mythologize objects and ideas and formulate new governing realities. Katya is interested in how our internal landscapes can shape our external realities. Her figures explore a world post divine destruction as survivors, and grapple with the sensitivities, neurosis, burdens, and wonder of the human condition.
About This Piece: Fearlessness comes when we see beyond ourselves. Being fearless means to bloom, to transform.
