A Look At: SMBGC Summer Camp 2023
This Summer 2023, Give Kids Art partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica (SMBGC) in Southern California to deliver our Give Kids Art programming and art supplies to kids participating in their summer camp programs at various branch locations. We have worked with SMBGC for many years and through various seasons. However, this was the first summer where we tested our training program with them and had their staff facilitate our 8-week Give Kids Art curriculum. Through their support, we were able to reach 80 children across three branch locations, each of whom experienced eight weeks of art activities through our curriculum.
Below are photos from their Summer 2023 GKA programming, showcasing various art activities across different branches that catered to different age ranges of artists. At Give Kids Art, we pride ourselves on supporting social-emotional development through the arts in every one of our art activities. Our process-based activities and prompts allow for our artists to express themselves and explore their inner creativity!
Our Give Kids Art (GKA) partnership curriculum program includes:
GKA training for Partner staff members or volunteers via Zoom or in-person
GKA training documents for designated Partner program facilitators
GKA season-specific, 8 to 10 week curriculum for all age ranges, provided with age-related adjustments and tips!
Includes a 30+ page written version of our curriculum, with verbatim instructions for each art activity
Includes a deck of slides for each art activity session in our curriculum, which can be used by and/or projected in the art room by Partner program facilitators
GKA sourced art supplies delivered to Partner organization, to be used for Give Kids Art program curriculum
Thank you to the staff at SMBGC for helping to deliver our programming to more kids! We appreciate you!
